Botanacor Laboratories has opted to forgo the state’s certification process as it focuses on the Retail and Medical Marijuana markets and not hemp. Our sister laboratory, Agricor Labs, is a state-certified marijuana testing facility. Botanacor is a mirror-image of Agricor in terms of processes, procedures, equipment, and methodologies.
The Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) works in conjunction with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) to certify Colorado Marijuana Testing Facilities.
The state’s certification process is a good starting point for the nascent marijuana industry, but misses crucial steps in determining whether a laboratory can generate accurate and repeatable data.
Botanacor Laboratories recognized this deficiency early on and we have elected to follow the requirements set by the FDA for a Pharma-compliant Quality Control laboratory.
- Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP); and
- Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- ISO/IEC 17025 through A2LA; and
- GLP certification (in process).
As the hemp industry matures, the FDA will have more and more oversight over hemp product manufacturers and hemp laboratories. Botanacor’s laboratory system is future-built and will be ready.
