Pursuant to the Hemp Growth Act, the Department is responsible for licensing and regulatory oversight of Industrial Hemp growers and handlers.

The final rules and regulations posted above reflect changes made by the Department as a result of public comment that was received from August 1, 2018 through August 31, 2018 in accordance with the Administrative Procedures Act. The final rules and regulations were filed with the Rhode Island Secretary Of State on September 19, 2018 and will take effect as of October 9, 2018.
